Grounded Desire

2014

Concrete, wood, iron, branches, clamps, textile, blown glass

+/- 200 x 200 x 300 cm

‘Grounded Desire’ is an installation that speaks of the wish to reconnect to the ground we live on. A never-ending construction of concrete skeletons  of buildings (as encountered in Chinese suburbs) balance on high stilts. This movement upwards is countered by a more earthy/organic shape, that wants to connect to the floor. Placed high about the ground on willow branches and glass legs, the work breaths a speak of a precarious balance.
