‘Burned Out’ is an installation that reflects how tight structures and rules can suffocate us; not everyone fits in the systems society is build on.
Four corporate trousers are presented in different stages of degradation. Each damaged, on those spots where we wear them out – the heals, the knees, upper legs. The image of a skyscraper burns it’s way through the material, leaving very little of this uniform, that used to be a piece of clothing to blend in with the crowd. From formal and neat on a hanger, to completely torn and left on the floor. Burned out. The optimist sees an escape – the more hopeful finale.
